01 / THE QUESTION

What does the design respond to?

A low horizontal pavilion responds to coastal rock. A recessed glazed edge and sheltered terrace give the outcrop its own presence, using landscape as the starting point.

02 / DESIGN DECISIONS

Making atmosphere through decisions.

01

Read the rock horizontally

Roof and terrace establish quiet lines beside irregular stone.

02

Shelter through recession

Living spaces sit behind the roof edge, adding shelter and depth to coastal views.

03

A balance of weight

Timber, glass and concrete frame a tactile contrast with rough stone.
